e-Gras Jharkhand: e-Gras refers to the Online Government Receipt Accounting System. This is the first step in the e-Governance of Government related to the various Indian States. This portal is also part of the Integrated Finance Management System by the Government of India under the Mission Mode Project of India. The portal of e-GRAS supports the collection of both tax and non-tax through online and manual modes. This initiative to make tax/non-tax payments through an online portal has not affected the existing system of departments, executives, and accounting agencies.

How to pay stamp duty through the e-Gras portal?

Citizens can pay on the portal e-GRAS stamp duty fee by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official website of e-Gras.
• Register or log in to the official e-Gras website.
• After logging in, select the category as well as the purpose of making the payment through the portal for which the challan needs to be generated.
• After selecting the payment purpose, i.e. Stamp Duty, the ‘Major Head’ and ‘Department’ will automatically be selected. Users can manually select the major head and department instead of selecting payment purpose.
• Then, click on the ‘Submit’ button. After submission, the portal will redirect you to the e-challan page.
• On this new page, fill in all the details, such as Department, District, Office Name, Treasury, Year, PAN Number, and Period for making the payment.
• The next step is to enter the tax payment nature, total amount, and amount.
• Now, select ‘Security Question’. Finally, enter the mobile number and email id on the portal.
• Select the payment option from the given options. If the ‘Manual’ option is selected, the payment should be made at the selected Financial Institution along with the printout of the challan. For the ‘e-Banking’ option, enter the bank details and make payment directly through Government Receipt.
• In the next window, enter the details asked by the portal, such as Tenderer Name, Identity, City/District, City, Pin, Particulars (Purpose of Payment), and Address.
• Click on the option of ‘Add more details (in case there are more details to be added for the challan).
• the next window clicks on the option of ‘New Add Detail’. Enter all the details and save them. This new description will be added to the invoice.
• Click on the ‘Submit’ option. After the successful submission of the form, the challan will be generated.
