CM of Jharkhand: Hemant Soren (born 10 August 1975) is an Indian politician from Jharkhand, who was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 29 December 2019. He was appointed as the Minister of Labor and Employment. He also served as the Minister of Finance, Urban Development and Commercial Taxes during the NDA government. Babulal Marandi (Hindi pronunciation born 11 January 1958) is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand and is currently the Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.

About the CM of Jharkhand
The Chief Minister of Jharkhand is the chief executive officer of the Indian state of Jharkhand. According to the Constitution of India, the Governor is the de jure head of a state, but the actual executive authority rests with the Chief Minister. Following elections to the Legislative Assembly, the state’s governor usually invites the party (or coalition) with a majority to form the government. The Governor appoints the Chief Minister, whose Council of Ministers is collectively responsible to the Legislative Assembly. Given the confidence of the Legislative Assembly, the term of the Chief Minister is for five years and is not subject to any term limit.
Since the formation of Jharkhand on 15 November 2000, six people have served as the Chief Minister of the state. Half of them, including the inaugural office-bearer Babulal Marandi, represents the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His successor Arjun Munda, also from the BJP, has been the longest-serving chief minister; He served for more than five years in three terms, but never completed a full term. Two chief ministers, Shibu Soren and his son Hemant Soren, represented the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).

Shibu Soren’s first term ended in just ten days, as he could not prove that he had the support of the majority of the House and was forced to resign. The state has also been governed by Madhu Koda, who is one of the few independent candidates to become the chief minister of any state.
