Income Calculation
Income means money earned regularly by the members of the family. The income of the following is included in the calculation of family income.

- Unmarried siblings/dependent unmarried sons and daughters living together in the same household, widowed daughters actually dependent on the family.
The sources of income considered for the calculation are as follows.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to obtain the Jharkhand Income Certificate, the citizen must comply with the following criteria.
- The citizen who needs the certificate must be a permanent resident of Jharkhand at the time of applying.
- Any resident of Jharkhand who is employed and is required to submit an income certificate for any purpose is eligible to apply for the document.
Documents required for income certificate:
Any person applying for an income certificate in Jharkhand must attach the following documents along with the application form.
- Proof of being a native of the concerned block.
- Identity proof of the applicant
- Applicant Age Proof (Duplicate)
- Applicant Address Proof – Ration Card (Duplicate)
- Passport-size photograph of the applicant

Note: The government of Jharkhand provides Tatkal service for the issue of certificates. For Tatkal service, the applicant has to attach proof stating the reason for Tatkal. The local Circle Officer / Block Development Officer / Executive Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Additional Collector / Deputy Commissioner should recommend proof of eligibility for Tatkal.

Application Procedure
Applicants can get income certificates by applying offline or online.
Offline Application
- Applicant should visit the nearest Tehsil office with the required documents and passport-size photos.
- Get the related application form from the concerned officer.
- After duly filling out the form attach the documents with photographs and submit them.
- An acknowledgment slip will be given which the citizen has to show at the time of collecting the certificate.

- To apply online visit Jharkhand’s official online portal Jharseva.
- If already a registered user, click on ‘Login’. In case of new users, click on ‘Register yourself’ on the home page of the portal.
- On clicking Jharseva, the registration page appears. Fill in the following details.

- Enter the captcha and click on submit.

On approval by the concerned officer, the applicant will be informed through SMS on the registered mobile number. Applicants can visit the official portal and download the certificate by entering the acknowledgment number and acknowledgment date. After downloading, the applicant can take a print of the digitally signed certificate and use it for the required purpose.
