Ramgarh Jharkhand: Ramgarh district is carved out of the erstwhile Hazaribagh district on 12 September 2007. The latitude and longitude of the district headquarter are 230’38” and 850’34” respectively. The present boundary of Ramgarh district is North-Hazaribagh district, South-Ranchi district, East-Bokao, and Purulia district of West Bengal West-Ranchi district. The district headquarter is at Chhatramandu, Ramgarh Town. It is located on National Highway 33, 46 km from the state capital Ranchi. It is towards the north and 52 km from Hazaribagh towards the south. The total area of Ramgarh district is 1341 km², out of which 487.93 km² is forest area. There are 315 revenue villages in the Ramgarh district, of which 305 are Chirag and 10 are non-Chirag.
Ramgarh district consists of 06 administrative blocks namely Ramgarh, Patratu, Gola, Mandu, Chittarpur, and Dulmi. These are further divided into 125-gram panchayats and 320 revenue villages. However, there are 04 health blocks at Ramgarh, Patratu, Gola, and Mandu.
